About Hertz & Health
What it is
Hertz & Health is a hearing health monitor for Android. It measures sound pressure levels in your environment using your device's microphone and estimates the accumulation of Temporary Threshold Shift — a measurable, temporary degradation of hearing sensitivity caused by noise exposure.
The goal is simple: give people a real-time window into something that usually goes unnoticed until the damage is done.
All audio processing happens locally. Your health data never leaves your device. No account. No tracking.
The model
The TTS estimation model is grounded in primary auditory physiology research. It is not a black box — the full methodology, assumptions, and derivation are documented and publicly available.
